December 5th, 2004. Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

No, there wasn't a monster truck rally, but it was the last day that Robyn and I would have together.

I awoke and gathered my things in preparation to check out of the hotel. I checked out, hopped in the rental car and began my drive to Robyn's house. I didn't get too lost this time. I was lost enough that we had to go to Noon mass instead of 10 am mass. Robyn's Mom went out for donuts and muffins and we had some tasty coffee made by Robyn's Mom too. Robyn and I went upstairs and Robyn got ready for church, makeup and stuff. I had made it very clear that, while the makeup looked nice, I thought Robyn looked great without it too. It was fun to see the makeup applied, and fun to spend time with her aunt and cousin too. The transformation finished, Robyn looked gorgeous, and we headed back downstairs to get our coats and go to church.

Robyn's Mom drove and the three of us arrived and headed into the church. It's a gorgeous building and everybody was very nice. The service reminded me of the Presbyterian services of my youth so I felt right at home. The message was about true repentance and living our lives for God, it was very cool.

After church we went to Robyn's maternal Grandmother's apartment where I got to meet the Matriarch of the family. She is very nice. Have I mentioned that Robyn has a terrific family? ;-) Robyn takes out books on tape for her Grandmother to listen to, so we talked about those a little. They talked about David Brudnoy, a local broadcaster who was very sick at the time and then passed away a few days later. After a nice time with Robyn's grandmother we headed home and started thinking about lunch and Robyn and I were both trying not to think about the fact that I would be leaving later that day.

We had some delicious subs for lunch and some spicy chicken wings. After lunch we took some more pictures and soon it was time for me to go. Ron gave me some last minute directions as I tried to hold it together. Robyn and I hugged and kissed and said we loved each other and I headed for the door. As I was closing the outside door I totally broke down, I'm choking up as I write this now. Robyn saw my face as I was beginning to cry and she shut the door and began to cry too. I cried all the way to the car rental place and then got it together. I ended up waiting to board the plane for over an hour because I was so early. Robyn and I talked on the phone the whole time. The plane flight was uneventful and I called Robyn as soon as I landed. I talked to her until I saw my parents and my sister waiting for me. Robyn and I said our goodbyes and I went off to have dinner with my family. We had a nice time and I filled them in on the events of the weekend, but then I was exhausted so they took me home.

I talked to Jon some when I got home and then called Robyn. As we talked I was preparing to post the pics I took.

Thus ends the best weekend of my life. No matter how soon I see her again, it won't be soon enough.
