You have obviously forgotten 9-11
Tonight Dad and I went to see The Incredible Hulk - 2008 and I wasn't expecting it to be great, but I really liked it. This was Dad's second time seeing it so I know he liked it. As we walked to the car I saw a note under the windshield wiper of my car. My first thought was that one of my movie going friends had been there that night and left me a note, but what I found was quite different and is displayed below.

Now I should explain: on my left and right rear back seat windows I have sticers that say Never Forget September 11th! I put them in the car I was driving back in 2001 and put them in this car when I bought it in 2004. On the rear window I have two stickers, the first is this one:

The second says: "If religious groups want to be part of the government they should pay taxes" or something similar, my apologies for not running out to the car to check.
I'm guessing their objection was to the End This War sticker.
My first thought was "If they are so firm in their belief why didn't they sign it?" My second thought was, "Oh! They're a coward!, Silly me.
"
The scariest thing I didn't notice till I scanned it in: it was written on a seating chart! This ignorant person is probably a teacher! Now, I have no problem with people who support the war in Iraq, obviously Saddam Hussein was a bad guy and someone needed to to do something about him, but what I do have a problem with is any attempt to tie Iraq to 9-11, that is just sheer ignorance. I fully support U.S. activities in Afghanistan, if they can bring in Osama Bin Laden and string him up I will dance on his grave, the war in Afghanistan is not the one I oppose. The Iraq war, on the other hand, has brought nothing but sorrow to everyone involved. I'm glad the surge seems to be working, because anything that can stop the killings of American soldiers and innocent Iraqi's is a good thing, but using 9-11 or imaginary WMDs as an excuse to be there is just plain wrong. Al-Qaeda wasn't even a blip on Iraq's radar before Bush's attack and subsequent result:

With Iraq's infrastructure destroyed the terrorists could run free and wreak havoc killing thousands of US troops and Iraqi civilians.
War on terrorism in Afghanistan is good, creating a terrorist breeding ground in Iraq is bad. As of this posting there are still 209 days until this murdering, useless, bastard of a president is out of office, and it can't come too soon as far as I'm concerned.
Thank you, good night, and good luck.

Amen! I never wanted Bush in office. He had a great opportunity when 9-11 happened to "be presidential" as quoted in the American President but he blew it big time when he deployed troops to Iraq, a country that did not attack us. I can't wait til he is gone, and Obama is in the Oval Office. John McCain is just a Bush follower, so that scares me, the thought of him becoming President. And he has shown in recent speeches that he is just as inept at public speaking as Bush is. Obama is inexperienced true, but at least he is willing to be diplomatic toward other countries, unlike our current President. My only hope is that Obama brings in some smart people to his cabinet who can advise how to operate.

My blood is boiling at someone putting that under your window, of all people. I believe you to be a true patriot and I remember how devastated you were after 9/11. People forget that true patriots question their country and it's leaders. I don't blame anyone who voted for Bush...the first time...but the second time?...the man is a war mongering, gay bashing, female hating, civil rights violating,ego-maniacal, megalomaniacal, misanthropical waste of DNA (did I miss anything?)

Mike,
I agree with you and Robyn. I also liked your explanation of your bumper stick to end the war. The first thing I noticed before even reading the note on your windshield was the seating chart heading. I just wonder where he/she teaches and what?
Love you!

Good blog Mike! I had missed the "seating chart" too. Right you are Robyn! I feel bad for his/her students. Way to go Bill!!! I don't think you missed anything worth mentioning
Shirley, I'm not surprised that you immediately picked up on the seating chart. You're pretty observant!

Damn!! What cowards they are!! No one has ever said Saddam Hussein was a good guy and deserved to stay in Iraq as President. Even the most fervent anti-war supporters have never ever said or even implied that! What was their objection was the justification for invading Iraq was transparent and obviously flimsy!! George W. Bush has no business being President! He has lead the US and the world to more death and destruction than Obama Bin Laden or Al Queda could EVER do!!!
I sit and watch the countdown till he is out of office!!!!!!!

Mike,
As a teacher I can say that we would never waste a seating chart to leave a note. They must have stolen their teachers' seating chart and needed to get rid of the evidence. A true teacher never wastes anything for their class. Although, I do know a few teachers that wasted their vote on President Shrub.

Where can I get a sticker that says "if religious groups want to be part of the government, they should pay taxes"? I think it's the kind of slogan that would really get people thinking in my country. We don't have a tradition of bumper sticker opinion in the UK - and I intend to do my bit to change that.
GREAT blog, by the way. Thanks for your comments over at my place.
