Technical Issues

In the past few weeks I've had some technical issues with my server. I did a fresh install of Mac OS 10.4 on another partition and migrated the web server stuff over, but all it would do is display, none of the Movable Type stuff, including comments worked and I didn't want to take the time to reinstall MySQL and reconfigure everything. The FTP server software that I use lost all of the user info, all the accounts, so I'm researching other free solutions, what I was using was severely out of date, but was not free, so I didn't upgrade.

I've now switched back to the old partition, so Web, Movable Type, and Email all work, but I've shut the FTP server off until I find a better solution.

I apologize to anyone that still uses their FTP account. I'll get it up again soon, sooner if someone emails me and lets me know they need it.

Hey, glad you're back! I missed reading your blog even though I talk to you every day. I have no idea what you were talking about when it came to the computer stuff, but I'm glad you got it working again. YOU ROCK!!!!!!

I don't think it made a difference for me as I always got your blog, and enjoyed reading it so much.

Hah! I have a PC, but back when I set my server up I didn't. Even now I
would still probably choose Linux or Mac OS X, which is Unix based, over
Windows.

Yeah, I know. However, I could not pass up a chance to say that "Macs were nothing but trouble" or that "you need to get a PC". Whenever I have any problems with my PC, I will invariably get a few, "You should get a Mac" comments!
