Teresa of Avila

"I do not fear Satan half so much as I fear those who fear him."

-Teresa of Avila

This seems rather appropriate in our society where people are finding Satan around every corner. I could see us bringing back witch burning soon.

OK, maybe my mind is not working as well as it should, but I have two interpretations of that quote. Does she mean she fears God-loving people, or people that are evil and believe in Satan? Please explain.

God-loving people have no reason to fear Satan, yet some run around accusing others of evil or being in league with Satan. They fear him and in turn fear and hate others.
